Maya Bookbinder, originally from Boston, received a BFA in sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design. After graduation, she relocated to San Francisco and worked as a cake decorator at an erotic bakery before establishing a cooperative bakery. A move to Los Angeles introduced Maya to food styling where she assisted some of the city's top stylists - she realized that this was the perfect creative synthesis of her training in the arts and her intuition for composition, color and texture. In her work, Maya draws inspiration from surrealism, humor, and fashion, demonstrating versatility in styling from classic dinner table settings to more avant-garde projects. Recently, she has expanded her portfolio to encompass cosmetics and beauty styling, applying her expertise in texture styling to serums and lip gloss. Maya lives with her partner in LA and frequently returns to the East Coast to indulge in lobster rolls and bagels.  @mayabookbinder
