Doan Ly is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice integrates the fields of floral design, prop styling, photography, and motion. Born in Vietnam, Doan immigrated to the US at age 8 and grew up in Minnesota, and currently resides in NYC. She holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.F.A. from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. Doan has exhibited floral installations, video, and photography at the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Saint Louis Art Museum. Her work has been published in Vogue Spain, Vogue China, Vogue Italy, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and Kinfolk, among others. Recognized by her dreamy palettes and compositions, her work often revolves around the colors and flowers that pass through her studio, as well as the guests who visit, the assistants who work for her, and occasionally, even the lunch delivery person.
